September 10, 2008 – On November 13, 2008, the American Architectural Foundation (AAF) will convene top leaders in public education, design and construction in our nation’s capital to consider the future of school design in America. Each year in the U.S., over $30 billion is spent to design, build or renovate schools. Discussion at "Voices from the Field" will focus on maximizing this investment.
This will be an evening of fresh ideas about school design and an opportunity to highlight some accomplishments of the Great Schools by Design program. The evening’s program will include findings of our Voice of the Student research, presentations about the importance of school design from the perspective of superintendents, the premier of the newest AAF documentary on sustainable schools, and the presentation of the Richard Riley Award.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for this exciting event. For more information click here, or contact Joylyn Hopkins at jhopkins@archfoundation.org.

Following the 2006 National Summit on School Design, AAF has conducted forums to gather concepts, current perspectives, and best practices on a number of topics recommended by the Summit participants. AAF appreciates the continuing support of Great Schools by Design’s presenting sponsor Target.
